LINKUPWITHLISA #15 - DIY Skirt Hack

Take this look from day to night with a pair of sexy chic sandals.

I refashioned this skirt because it was much too long and too tight to walk in. First I tried the skirt on and cut the slit. I then folded a small seam and sewed it with a straight stitch.

Next I cut off the old elastic waistband and tried the skirt on inside-out.

I created a new waistband and trimmed it to fit my waist.

I then attached the new waistband using a straight stitch and reinforced it with a zigzag stitch.

I decided to wear my skirt with the slit on the side instead of the back because my blazer covered the seams. The back slit works better wearing tights :-)

  5. I understand why you would shorten the skirt and add a slit…those long, narrow skirts are so hard to walk in. Such a lovely outfit!

  11. You are always so flawless! I really hope I know how to sew. Lol! My husband taught me but I am not good at it at all. I made a beach cover but that is the end of sewing. That skirt is great! Thank you for hosting this for us!
