Volunteer Ideas and How to Get Started

Today was an extra special day volunteering for Look Good Feel Better. As soon as I walked into DeQuattro Cancer Center I was surprised with this Connecticut State Sunrise Award for volunteers! I am so honored that I was nominated and selected that I did shed a few tears :-) Thank you so much!! And thank you to all of the brave, beautiful, inspiring women with cancer who light up the classroom XO!

The prestigious State Sunrise Awards are given to exceptional volunteers in three categories; PBA Member/LGFB certified beauty professional volunteers, LGFB certified beauty professional volunteers, and general volunteers. Individuals are nominated by peers and selected by committee.

If you are interested in volunteering for LGFB or if you are a cancer patient in active treatment and would like to attend a free class, please visit LookGoodFeelBetter.

Look Good Feel Better is a wonderful organization developed in 1989 that I have been personally volunteering for since 2012. LGFB is the beauty industries charity of choice helping women with cancer deal with the appearance related side effects of treatment.

Nationwide group programs are held in every state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. All products are donated and classes are run by volunteers with experience in the beauty industry. This program is a collaboration of the American Cancer Society, the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, and the Professional Beauty Association / National Cosmetology Association.
